The annual congress of South African Ophthalmologists took place in Cape Town in February. Professor Jacquie Greenberg from the Department of Human Genetics, delivered a paper on the Retinal Gene Tracking Project at UCT. A poster presentation by Claudette Medefindt, National Secretary of the Foundation and Sister Lecia Bartmann, also of UCT, exploring the role of the ophthalmologist in untreatable retinal disorders, was also presented.
